Imagine sitting by the sea. In sleepy town called Jelsa. on Hvar Island. Dalmatia…
The sound of the sea lightly touching the waterfront makes for perfect background music with all the easy, relaxing sounds of a typical Dalmatian town.

And now you have a chance to enjoy fabulous food in this great settings!
Me and Mrs. Jones is a restaurant started back in 2009. with an idea to offer something different from the regular menu seen at every other restaurant on the coast. And they are doing it so well!
Jure, the owner was our host and he explained each dish that we had that night and we also discussed cooperation as we want them to run or cooking class on Hvar and to have special dinners served in their space (they are moving across the bay for 2011)

The interior of Me and Mrs. Jones is funky, non traditional and all this drippings are reflected in their food as one can see in the images bellow!

But, before going there for this unique dinner event, we went to the cellar of Dubokovic. To get some Medvid, some newly bottled rose and the brand new plavac that is still not labeled. This new plavac of Duboković will be a smash hit! From what I hear from the insiders, it will be simply a superb value as it will be priced as other better plavac wines but the taste.. The taste is simply unbelievable! Let’s keep it a secret for now!
And we also had Medvid – no need to say anything about it but that it is THE best plavac on the planet and everything else is simply not even near. Sorry… I do try to compare other nice plavac wines to Medvid and try to be objective but simply impossible. Medvid is massive! A mountain of taste, a never ending plain of sensations and excitement… it simply sings in your head! Nothing like it!

But enough about the wine!
Everything cooked and served was really exceptional! A festival of colors and taste!

This was waay too much food for me (about 7 courses) so I was barely breathing when we decided to see the new location where Me and Mrs. Jones is moving to for 2011 season. The new space is bigger and more classical with walls with exposed stone showing throughout. Lovely outside seating area is quite romantic as well. They will, of course, continue with their mission of preparing fantastic food and this is one of the few restaurants I recommend on Hvar Island!
With Hvar town being so crowded, going here for a dinner is a great way to spend a lovely evening!
