Dubrovnik – Site Inspection, February 2009

Winter is the best time for site inspections – we get to see all the hotels at a relaxed pace, we check all the services without waiting, we enjoy each destination without crowds. Especially, Dubrovnik!

We scheduled our inspection for early February to see the fiesta of Sv. Vlaho – St. Blaise – the heavenly protector of Dubrovnik. We enjoy this fair since it is a lovely display of traditional costumes and the Old Town is so lively.

We stayed at wonderful Excelsior. Being one of the flagship hotels, Excelsior is everything a true 5 star hotel should be…plus a million dollar view of the Old Town! We stayed in almost all hotels we recommend to be able to give accurate descriptions when discussing the itineraries with potential clients.

The rooms in the older wing are several square meters smaller than the ones in the recently restored new wing. The entire hotel was restored completely with last two years to the highest standards.

The weather was terrible for the first two day of our trip and we were strictly business inspecting Kazbek Castle, Villa Franica and Villa Kuca Starog Kapetana for our new web site www.luxurycroatianvillas.com
The goal is to have only the most prestigious objects in the area!

He has several VERY luxurious villas in the area and buying more…

In the afternoon, the rain finally stopped and we went to the Old Town.

Our three days in Dubrovnik flew away quickly but the city is growing more beautiful with every visit! Luckily, on the very last day, the sun came out and we got to enjoy the Old Town in all it’s beauty!

On this visit we inspected hotels Excelsior and More (5*) and Neptun and Stari Grad of the less luxurious places. Hotel More is also a gem! Loved it! Perfect for couples and highly recommended for honeymooners. Thinking about making it a top destination in Dubrovnik for our honeymoon tours: http://www.secretdalmatia.com/en/tours/in-love-in-croatia-2.html
We also visited four villas and did a tour of Cavtat and went for a dinner to Konoba Konavle with our friend Cvijeto. He is also our transfer guy for Dubrovnik area!
